Appartment SAR

The renovation of this apartment for a family of four transforms the open-plan layout into a clearly structured, minimalist living environment. Custom-built furnishings define the space while accommodating multiple functions. Full-height cabinetry acts as a spatial framework, zoning the apartment, providing storage, and integrating precisely articulated uses. The generous living area opens towards Lake Zurich and is carefully articulated through targeted interventions without compromising its sense of openness. A key feature is the integrated seating niche: conceived as a compact, intimate dining area, it complements the large dining table while offering a sheltered retreat within the open spatial arrangement. Warm wood surfaces and refined detailing lend it a distinct, calm atmosphere. Materiality and design follow a consistent and restrained concept. Light surfaces, finely grained wood fronts, and natural stone define the overall appearance. In the kitchen, precisely crafted joinery meets robust yet elegant materials. The bathroom continues this approach with flush-integrated elements, indirect lighting, and a reduced color palette. The result is a balanced interplay between openness and retreat—a precisely designed living space that combines functional requirements with spatial quality.
