House HAL

The house develops from the shape of the site and the established structure of its surroundings. A compact volume with a pitched roof takes up the local building typology and translates it into a clear, contemporary form. A light rendered plinth and a dark vertical timber façade define the character of the house. The timber structure brings together solid surfaces, windows and doors into a calm, coherent building envelope, giving the elongated volume rhythm and depth. The openings respond specifically to orientation, use and privacy. Large glazed areas open the living spaces towards the garden and the surrounding landscape, while smaller and filtered openings create more sheltered and private areas. The loggia, balcony and entrance are integrated into the volume and remain part of its clear geometry.
